As a full service florist we have the privilege of not only creating daily floral arrangements but also a large number of weddings each year. Because we are an every day florist we get many clients who come to us when they simply need personal flowers. Personal flowers for a wedding  are bouquets (bride’s, bridesmaid’s) groom & groomsmen boutonnieres, children’s flowers, mother’s and grandmother’s flowers, etc.

We realize that not every wedding has the need or the budget for a large scale wedding, or in the case of Amanda and Allen’s wedding they were having a small, intimate wedding and reception for friends and family only and simply didn’t want a lot of fuss over the flowers!

Amanda and Allen were married on a perfect fall day in October at Aldridge Botanical Gardens in Hoover, Alabama. Photos were taken beforehand at the couple’s home which was also where the reception was held. Amanda’s color scheme was a gorgeous palette of oranges, yellows, and corals. Her bouquet was a mixture of stunning dahlias, gerbera daisies, mango calla lilies, zinnias, sweetheart roses, Cherry Brandy roses, and hypericum berries with a collar of seeded eucalyptus. The stems were wrapped in a brown ribbon.

Allen’s daughters served as the Maid of Honor and the Best Wo-man. Their bouquets were a petite version of Amanda’s bouquet.

Allen wore a grey suit and his boutonniere reflected the girls’ bouquets with orange sweetheart roses, red hypericum berries, and a hint of seeded eucalyptus.

Altar flowers were not necessary at Aldridge Botanical Gardens, especially when you have the beautiful lake as your backdrop. The neatest thing about Amanda and Allen’s wedding (to us) was that they walked down the aisle as a family, hand in hand.

Guests blew bubbles as the newlyweds left Aldridge Gardens and departed for their home reception.

Carved, monogrammed pumpkins greeted guests upon arrival at Amanda and Allen’s home for the reception. A food table centerpiece contained the wedding flowers of dahlias, gerbera daisies, mango calla lilies, zinnias, seeded eucalyptus, sweetheart roses, bittersweet, Cherry Brandy roses, hydrangea, and hypericum berries.

The wedding cake, a beautiful two tiered confection from Olexa’s Café, Cakes, and Catering, was adorned with a large orange dahlia and trimmed with brown ribbon.

Thank you to Amanda and Allen for letting us be a part of such an amazing day. We wish you and your girls nothing but happiness in your new life together!
