Madelaine & Cary | Cathedral of St. Paul

Madelaine’s wedding and reception was one that we were looking forward to for months! St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most stunning churches in Birmingham and it is always a pleasure to work there. In addition to being a terrific sanctuary, St. Paul’s reception hall also recently underwent a large reconstruction, and this was going to be our first event there since the remodel!

Carla, Madelaine’s mom, came to us in late 2012 to take advantage of an offer we extend to all of our potential brides: our price match guarantee! She had received an estimate from another florist in Birmingham, and she was thrilled that we were able to beat the price!

Madelaine chose a face forward, or cascade, bouquet for herself. All of the flowers for the wedding were to be cream, white, and blush tones, and her bouquet was no exception. White O’Hara garden roses, sahara roses, white cymbidium orchids, Sarah Bernhardt peonies, cream spray roses, Juliet garden roses, and white dendrobium orchids made up her bouquet.

Madelaine’s bridesmaids carried clutch bouquets of sahara roses, Juliet garden roses, jumbo white hydrangea, cream spray roses, and a collar of dusty miller.

A single sahara rose was used for Cary’s boutonniere while the groomsmen’s lapels were adorned with cream spray roses wrapped in satin, ivory ribbon.

Grapevine baskets with a bouquet of flowers were added to the cathedral doors to welcome guests as they arrived to Madelaine and Cary’s ceremony.

Pew markers were added to family pews as well as the middle and back pews to accentuate the long aisle at St. Paul’s. The pew markers were created with sahara roses, white O’Hara garden roses, French tulips, white hydrangea, dusty miller, and Italian ruscus.

Guest tables at the reception were decorated with two different looks. Look one was created with silver candelabras with a romantic mound of the wedding flowers and accented with votive candles. The mounds included antique green hydrangea, sahara roses, white O’Hara garden roses, white cymbidium orchids, dusty miller, Itlian ruscus and blush tulips.

Look two incorporated the same flowers, but in a bouquet placed inside medium silver trumpet vases. All tables were draped in a champagne pintuck linen which accented the flowers perfectly.

For their exit, guests showered the newlyweds with dried lavender which had been displayed in our vintage riddling rack. The couple then left in a beautiful vintage car.
