Sometimes when a photographer sends you the photos from a wedding you want to sit and stare at them for hours. This was exactly what happened when we received the photos of Katie & Rob’s wedding from their photographers Kelli and Daniel Taylor of the fabulous Daniel Taylor Photography. We loved them so much that we ordered a large canvas print to hang in the wedding section of our store!
Katie and Rob were referred to us from the lovely ladies at M. Elizabeth Events at the beginning of the summer. They had a small, intimate ceremony surrounded by close family only and then held a romantic reception at The Club for friends and family.
Katie, who was once voted one of Birmingham’s Most Beautiful People, wore a gorgeous strapless gown from Ivory and White. When she came to us with her vision for the flowers, she didn’t know quite what she wanted. She did know that the wedding would incorporate multiple shades of purple and accent colors of green. Designer Justin used shades of pinks, purples, and of course green, blooms including dahlias, zinnias, Veronica, garden roses, lisianthus, Cool Water roses, and bupleurum to create that fresh picked wild flower look.

The groom’s lapel was ornamented with a larger, magenta dahlia with sprigs of grass while the groomsmen had a smaller dahlia in a similar shade.

Rather than taking traditional shots at the church, Katie & Rob decided to go to the place where they met — Highlands Bar & Grill downtown. This first shot is the one that we loved so much we had a large print made for our meeting area in the store.

Guests were treated to delicious food and a fabulous band at The Club as well as a stunning ombre cake from Magnificent Cakes. Celedon green pintuck linens done by Décor to Adore dressed the guest tables. Centerpieces were mixed flower arrangements in the wedding colors included blooms of stargazer lilies, zinnias, Cool Water roses, lisianthus, bupleurum, fuchsia stock, Veronica, and bright pink sweetheart roses. Other guest tables had smaller arrangements of the same flowers in silver julep cups.

The guest tables on the terrace overlooking downtown Birmingham were decorated with small glass vases of a mixture of blooms.

Even the children had something fun and decorative at their candy table: a floral centerpiece in the shape of a fun head complete with a lisianthus Mohawk! Rob’s daughter, who served as maid of honor, certainly enjoyed it.

The buffet centerpiece was filled to bursting with the wedding flowers including many of the same blooms used throughout the wedding and papyrus fronds!

We have many thanks to send out for this wedding, most of all to Katie and Rob for trusting us to bring you vision to life, but also to Meghan Cease of M. Elizabeth Events for sending us a wonderful couple, and Daniel Taylor Photography for generously sharing these photos! Congratulations again!
