If you’re engaged in Alabama then you know where to be on the first Sunday in August – the Perfect Wedding Guide SoHo Bridal Show. Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market is always thrilled to participate in this bridal show and 2013 was possibly the best yet!
This unique bridal show is put on each year by the ladies at Engaged! A Wedding Library in Homewood, Alabama. Rosewood Hall is an event venue in Birmingham that is wonderful because it lends itself perfectly to be divided into five different “weddings”. Each room {including the building’s entryway} is sponsored by a florist and caterer in order to provide brides with a full wedding experience.
We had the luxury of sponsoring the center room so we felt we needed to go big or go home. We went big of course! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Arden and Mo of Arden Photography for getting these awesome shots of our décor. Without you guys we would have nothing to show off.
When brides entered our space at Rosewood Hall the first thing they saw was our huge, 8′ birch tree which served as the centerpiece for the food table. The tree was decorated with smoky amethyst and clear crystals draped from the top to the bottom. Rustic-chic iron birdcages also hung in the tree with beautiful, soft-toned arrangements in them.
The arrangements included mounded and cascading blooms of green hanging amaranthus, femma roses, white hydrangea, Choco cymbidium orchids, cherry brandy roses, variegated pittosporum, vendela roses, and succulents.
Andy Tolar of Design Productions did an amazing job hanging two of his Edison bulb chandeliers from the ceiling to create a romantic atmosphere. Did we mention that our space also won best booth?
We also had a variety of bridal bouquets that brides could hold, take photos of, and generally get a feel of what they liked best.
We’ll be there again this year and hope to see you as well!
