How to make a floral collar for your dog
Dogs are more than just pets–they’re like family! They bring joy and comfort to our households with their wagging tails, puppy energy and unwavering loyalty to their human counterparts. It’s because of this fact that so many couples include their dogs on their wedding day. This growing tradition gave light to a unique trend that lives on in the wedding industry today: floral collars for pets.
If you’re considering using a floral collar for your doggo on your big day, or are merely interested in how it works, read on for DIY step-by-step instructions.
For starters, it’s imperative that you know which flowers to use and which to stay away from. Some plants are toxic to animals, including: amaryllis, azalea, begonia, chrysanthemum, cyclamen, dianthus, english ivy, eucalyptus, euphorbia, gypsophila, kalanchoe, lily, narcissus, oleander, rhododendron, strelitzia, tulip and wisteria.

Step 1:
Gather the following supplies:
Step 2: Select and prepare your flowers by cutting them at the base, right underneath the sepal. They should be short enough so as to easily be attached to the ribbon.
(Pssst, if you’re looking to purchase flowers, we sell a number of beautiful blooms by the stem!)
Step 3: Measure and cut your ribbon with enough length to tie it around your dog’s neck. This will vary depending on the size of your furry friend.

Step 4: Using your glue, squeeze out a thick layer across the length of ribbon, leaving both ends dry to tie in a knot or bow.
Step 5: Place your greenery on the ribbon first, pressing down gently to secure it against the glue.
Step 6: Place each flower onto the ribbon, pressing the bloom gently against the glue for 5-10 seconds until it is dry and secure. Repeat this until your ribbon is covered in beautiful blooms.
Step 7: Tie your ribbon around your dog and admire your handiwork!
Now that you’ve got the steps down, it’s time to create your floral collar for your favorite pet!
